Congratulations to the students of Columbia International College who participated in the Terry Fox School Run. CIC placed 13th in the secondary division on the Terry Fox Foundation’s ‘Top 50 Fundraisers of 2018’ listing! With more than 4,200 Ontario schools raising over $7 million for the Terry Fox Foundation, CIC students raised $16,843.41!
Terry Fox (July 28, 1958 – June 28, 1981) was a Canadian athlete, humanitarian and a cancer research activist. In 1980, Terry Fox decided to run across Canada to raise money and awareness for cancer research after having one of his legs amputated due to cancer. Today, the Terry Fox Foundation continues to raise awareness and funds to find a cure for all cancers. The Terry Fox School Run helps to ensure that research teams are able to explore innovative approaches to cure cancer. For over 30 years, the Terry Fox Foundation upholds Terry’s ideals and values in working to achieve Terry’s vision – a world without cancer.
A big congratulations to the students of CIC who participated in this fundraiser and to the Student Development Team!
