As the Manager of Admissions at CIC, Marina Rosas is responsible for ensuring that student’s admission requirements and questions are all properly mannered and answered. With thousands of applications every year, Marina is a leader in ensuring her team is prepared in receiving applications and providing the proper tools and information to students and their families to transition to CIC in Canada. Over the last 19 years, Marina has gained a lot of experience along the way as a person, a mother and a co-worker.
Growing up in a family of five, Marina recounts her early life in Trinidad and Tobago where she was born and raised. Marina laughs jubilantly when asked what one of her favorite memories growing up was. Marina explains that she deeply treasures her memories in Trinidad and Tobago with her family. “One of my fondest memories growing up was waiting for my dad to come home and bring me a treat and also calling my mom after school to ask her to make cherry tarts and put a Coke in the fridge for me,” says Marina.
“This school has grown tremendously and it keeps growing. I can see this school continuing to expand in the future.”

Marina soon found herself moving to Canada where she started her family and is a proud mother to her daughter and son. “I love my children very much, and I’m so proud of them and who they have become. They are everything to me,” says Marina. For Marina, she finds happiness in simplicity. Spending time with her family and friends, working out regularly and reading are all things that bring her happiness.
Over the last 19 years at CIC, Marina has cared deeply for CIC and the family she has made here. Throughout the years, Marina has witnessed the many expansions and developments of the Total Care Education System® . Marina explains, “It has blossomed from what it was to where it is now and this school keeps blossoming. We provide Total Care and give commitments to parents to ensure their child is safe and successful.” As the school began to grow Marina witnessed the evolution of technology, new jobs created and new people coming to CIC. “This school has grown tremendously and it keeps growing. I can see this school continuing to expand in the future,” says Marina.
“We are here to support families in the admission process every step of the way. We want them to know they are well cared for and we want their children to succeed.”

Marina has worked hard to ensure that her team excels in ensuring that the parents and students are well informed for their transition to Columbia International College. She has worked diligently with other departments to provide families with accurate information to aid them in their application process. As a mother herself, Marina understands a parent’s worries for sending their child abroad to study. But to Marina, the students at CIC are well cared for because all the staff at CIC want only the best for students in all attributes of their life. Marina explains, “We are here to support families in the admission process every step of the way. We want them to know they are well cared for and we want their children to succeed.”
The last 19 years Marina recounts memories with her co-workers, and how in every type of scenario that has occurred the staff at CIC has always banded together. No matter what is happening, CIC staff come together not just as co-workers but as a family. Marina explains how grateful she is for her experience working for CIC. “I’ve seen more and more students come here and have seen the expansion of our campus to accommodate our students. It has been an incredible sight to see,” says Marina.
When asked what she would tell parents about CIC, Marina smiles and says, “I would tell parents that they have chosen wisely and have made the best choice sending their children here. Sometimes students may feel a little homesick but the path gets smoother and the outcome is very good for them. At graduation you see the smile on their faces and you can see all their hard work has paid off. We have the best pathways to universities and it’s an incredible thing to see students get into their dream universities.”
