On Thursday, November 13, Columbia International College will be hosting Literacy Day.
The day, intended to promote and celebrate literacy, will encourage students to read and will highlight the importance of reading and writing as they begin to prepare for the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) scheduled for March 26, 2015. Throughout the day, students can participate in a number of literacy related activities:
1) Wear a shirt with expressions or slogans for others to read (they cannot have swearing or inappropriate language or images on them)
2) Review student-made literacy project on display in the Living Wall Lounge during periods 2, 3 & 4
3) Make bookmarks for themselves or others during periods 2, 3 & 4 in the Living Wall Lounge
4) Practice for the OSSLT by looking over test questions and picking up practice handouts
Visit Mrs. Youn in room 235 for more information about Literacy Day or the Literacy Test.
