Columbia’s leadership teams are preparing to visit our Outdoor Leadership Education Centre, Bark Lake. Later today, students from our four school Prefect leadership teams – Service Prefects, Athletic Prefects, Residence Activity Prefects, and Student Council – will depart for a four day leadership retreat.
From September 11-14, 54 students will spend the weekend participating in a number of fun and engaging activities designed to foster their leadership skills including canoeing, high ropes, archery, as well as a series of team building and problem solving challenges. The Bark Lake trip is one of the year’s highlights as students get the opportunity to experience the Canadian wilderness and take part in unique activities.
Leadership education and character development are integral parts of Columbia’s Total Care Education System® that teaches students’ core values and helps them become responsible Global Citizens.
Students interested in learning more about leadership opportunities within the school should visit the Student Development Office, room S244.
