Columbia is delighted to announce the Residence Life program – an initiative aimed at making a positive difference all the residences starting this August. If you wish to impact the student community and improve leadership skills, please come to the Student Development Office (S244) for application by Friday, January 29.
According Nick Wong, Columbia’s Residence Life Program coordinator, this program is open to any student returning to CIC in August 2016. They will have an opportunity to gain leadership experience, community service hours and even up to $2000 of pocket money.
The main responsibilities of the Residence Life Prefects (RLPs) are:
- Create an engaging environment for the students on each floor of residence.
- Create events and programs to welcome the new students to CIC.
- Hold weekly meetings to promote residence activities as well as school activities (i.e. School dances, community service trips, etc.), along with creating programs and events for their floor.
- Work with fellow residence RLPs to create larger residence wide programming, such as the “Haunted House at Pine” event for Halloween, allowing the whole residence to participate.
For you need more information, please see Mr. Wong at the Student Development Office (S244).
