Columbia would like to congratulate Principal, Ron Rambarran, on being awarded the 2015 Civilian of the Year award from Crime Stoppers International. Mr. Rambarran was presented with this prestigious honour by Crime Stoppers International President, Alexander MacDonald on September 30 at a Conference Gala held at the Toronto Hilton Hotel. (more…)

After undergoing much anticipated renovations, the Oak Hall dining hall reopened its door on Saturday, September 26th. The updated facility now includes an expanded seating area with modern and comfortable booths and high-top seating. We hope students enjoy redesigned student friendly designed space. (more…)

Next week Columbia students will be taking part in the school’s annual Terry Fox Walk-a-thon. On September 30th, students will walk from Hamilton’s Pier 4 to the Ainsliewood building to honour Terry and to raise funds for cancer research. In participating, students learn about Terry Fox and his journey,  and gain a better understanding of the importance of helping others…

Earlier this week, Columbia welcomed its newest ESL students to our school and to Hamilton by holding information sessions during Transition Day. Held at our new Cedar building, the daylong event presented students with important information of student life as well as familiarizing them with the school’s many resources. (more…)

Over the next few months, Columbia will welcome university representatives from post-secondary institutions across Canada to its campus as the fall university visit program begins. From September to December, university representatives will hold information sessions and will be available to speak with students one-on-one. Columbia’s leadership teams are preparing to visit our Outdoor Leadership Education Centre, Bark Lake. Later today, students from our four school Prefect leadership teams – Service Prefects, Athletic Prefects, Residence Activity Prefects, and Student Council – will depart for a four day leadership retreat.
