Study Buddy Program

Columbia International College is expanding its student Academic Support Program in residence. The Study Buddy Program is a peer academic support service designed by our Guidance Department. It is composed of a team of dedicated Columbia students who have a strong academic background and are enthusiastic about helping their peers.

Launched in early March, the pilot program is currently running in the Linden and Oak Hall residences. Study sessions take place Monday to Thursday from 8 to 9 p.m. in the residence Cafeteria. Extending the program to other residences will depend on student interest.

Many core subjects are covered in the program including classes in senior level (grade 11 and 12) Mathematics, Science, English, Accounting, Business and Social Sciences.

A study buddy provides academic assistance to students individually or in small groups on a walk-in basis. All study buddies have attended orientations on how to help, guide and lead students on their coursework, and are eager to share their knowledge and experience with their peers. A schedule of the courses offered is available in the Guidance Department.
